Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant for its Statutory Accounting Close and Controls team. The candidate will be responsible for monthly financial close and producing statutory financial reports for Executive, Board, and Regulatory audiences.
The Senior Accountant will prepare complex accounting journal entries, reconcile statutory basis results, and develop analytics for reporting to senior management and regulators. The role will be required to interface with other teams such as Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Data Governance associates to develop projected key ratios, ensure data accuracy, and drive standardization and automation of financial accounting processes. The candidate will lead the accounting close process for monthly and quarterly close timeframes and assist with capital management activities. They will be responsible for reviewing annual statutory-basis financial statements.
The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and have three or more years of accounting experience. They should also have insurance statutory accounting experience, with CPA certification preferred. Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite and basic query tools are essential. Experience in public accounting or large corporate accounting is a plus.
The role is a hybrid position and requires the candidate to be onsite in Amelia, OH 2-3 days a week.
