Oliver James is exclusively recruiting for a Risk Officer on behalf of our client, a leading Insurer specialising in Creditor Protection Insurance.
This successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the risk management framework for the firm's entities including financial, investment and underwriting risks in order to allow for an early and comprehensive identification of the risks supporting the management bodies in their decision-making.
- Reporting into the firms CRO you will sit on an agile team of three with a robust day-to-day focusing on but not limited to the following;
- Ensure the comprehensive mapping of processes, operational risks and controls for the successful candidate's area and issue recommendations to the first line to enhance the control environment when necessary.
- Monitor regulatory developments relevant for the successful candidate's area.
- Perform a second independent review of significant business and operational developments and issue risk opinions on major risks and key risk management processes
- Ensure the comprehensiveness and relevance of Risk Appetite limits and control regularly that the risks are within the agreed tolerances.
- Report on the risk activities to the management and governance bodies of the firm.
The successful candidate will come from an insurance and/or investment background with a minimum of 4 years within Risk and a working proficiency in French.
