Our client, a leading global insurance organization, is looking to expand their reinsurance accounting team.
This role oversees the finance and controllership functions related to reinsurance, managing a global team of up to 4 members. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing financial operations and bookings for internal and external reinsurance.
- Leading financial reporting activities (GAAP/STAT), focusing on statutory statements, including Schedule F and related disclosures.
- Understanding complex reinsurance programs and their impact on Schedule F and collateral reporting, collaborating with Actuarial and Reinsurance teams.
- Working with financial controls and audit teams on reinsurance matters.
- Partnering with collateral management to address collateral needs and credit requirements.
- Handling insolvent and commuted transactions and brokerage service accruals with the ceded reinsurance team.
- Managing key reinsurance finance processes and controls.
- Leading projects, process improvements, and transformation initiatives.
- Providing strategic guidance and solutions for ongoing and new issues.
- Engaging with senior management and stakeholders to ensure alignment and communication.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance or related field; advanced degree or professional designation (e.g., MBA, CPA, ARe) preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in insurance/reinsurance with extensive experience in ceded reinsurance and leadership roles.
- Skills: Advanced knowledge of reinsurance, accounting, financial reporting, and control processes; strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Additional: Experience with process transformation and working across global teams is a plus.
