One of our best clients, a globally leading fund administrator, is in the market for Fund Controller(s) to come in and lead a growing private equity accounting group forward hybrid in Downtown Chicago. The Fund Controller/Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of private equity funds, including the preparation of financial statements and management of the general ledger.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flows, for a portfolio of private equity funds
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts and perform variance analysis
- Coordinate with fund managers and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Review and approve fund-level expense allocations
- Manage and train a team of fund accountants
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and fund-specific accounting policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 5+ years of fund accounting experience, with at least 3 years of experience in private equity
- Strong understanding of GAAP and private equity accounting principles
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with fund accounting software
