Our client is a rapidly emerging player in the life insurance and annuities space, that is backed by a leading and well-regarded asset manager. In recent times, the company has gone through several M&A transactions that has seen the balance sheet grow to over $100billion.
Given the recent growth of the company, the Accounting Policy team seeks a motivated Director of Accounting Policy to aid with strategic transactions, technical accounting and driving implementation of new accounting standards.
This role can sit in New York City or Hartford, CT.
Compensation on offer ranges from $140,000 - $180,000 with bonus potential + other great benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting policy advice on complex or judgmental accounting matters, significant transactions (including acquisitions, disposals) and general issues
- Assessing the impact of new accounting standards and assisting in their implementation for the Group
- Act as a subject matter expert for US GAAP and US STAT reporting
- Updating Group accounting guidance
- Working directly with senior management to resolve accounting and regulatory issues within the Group
- Delivery of Group Finance board papers
We're Interested In Hearing From People Who Have
- CPA or similar Qualification is highly regarded.
- 6+ years of accounting policy, accounting advisory or external audit experience
- Insurance or Reinsurance experience or exposure to Insurance via Big 4 Audit / Consulting
- Excellent presentation and communication skills and ability to interact at the Executive management level
- Broad range of technical accounting skills gained in analyzing financial processes, reinsurance agreements and M&A accounting.
- Strong project management skills with ability to execute to deadlines
- Experienced people leader with ability to develop and motivate a high performing team
- Working rights within the USA
