Leading firm in the Insurance industry, is seeking a highly skilled and strategic individual to fill the role of Director of Accounting. This position will be to oversee the technical accounting teams, corporate accounting and GAAP reporting functions.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the corporate accounting department ensuring compliance with GAAP regulations and internal policies.
- Lead and prepare financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and public sector reporting standards.
- Streamline financial processes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial reports.
- Collaborate with executive management to develop financial strategies and planning
Key Skills:
- Profound knowledge of statutory reporting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (GAAP is a must)
- Experience working with technical accounting teams
- Experience in both private and public sector financial reporting and compliance.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in managing finance teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with multiple departments.
- Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage financial systems and budgets effectively.
