Technical Operations Lead

London - Hybrid

I am currently working with a London market insurer who have an opportunity for a talented Operations Lead to join in a newly created role. This client are a global insurer and reinsurer with over 100+ years in delivering innovation into the insurance industry, primarily in Property, Casualty and Speciality lines of business. With significant investment incoming, this is a prime time to join an exciting growth journey as they look to expand their European and UK operations.

This role will be a leadership position for the Operations team and requires someone with previous experience inspiring and leading a team as they embed a high performance culture throughout. You will be creating and monitoring the controls required for premium accounting; act as a problem solver for key contacts in operations, underwriting and reporting / control processes; lead the redesign of business processes; interpret contract wording of both inwards and facultative reinsurance structure and layering by underwriters; and be the go to liaison between multiple stakeholder groups.

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • 5 - 10 years' experience within Speciality or Property & Casualty reinsurance (strong technical knowledge required)
  • Has operated in a large London market insurer / re-insurer
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to deliver controls for Underwriting, Sarbannes-Oxley (SOX) disclosure requirements and regulatory compliance
  • Working knowledge of key (re)insurance systems
    • Policy admin system (PAS), preferably Guidewire Policycenter (full suite)
    • Reinsurance Management - SAP (FS-RI)
    • Quote & buy system - Genius
    • Document management system - ImageRight
  • Skilled in Microsoft office 365; Communication; Organisation; Administration
  • Either have achieved or making progress with professional qualifications - Chartered Insurance Institute (preferred)
