I am partnering with a Loyds Insurer who are looking to bring on their new Senior Leader in their Syndicate finance team.

The key responsibilities of the Syndicate Controller include ensuring accurate and timely Syndicate reporting, reviewing various Solvency II returns, managing the preparation of annual statutory returns, and overseeing the production of financial regulatory returns for Loyds. Additionally, the role involves maintaining reporting standards, implementing effective financial controls, managing financial planning and control, supporting the audit process, and developing financial systems and procedures.

Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial, and the role also includes providing management information to support decision-making and seeking continuous improvements in reporting and result interpretation. Lastly, this role entails managing and leading a team to deliver high-quality services that meet customer expectations.

The successfull candidate for the described role should hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and have significant experience in the Lloyds insurance and reinsurance market. They should have a proven track record of contributing to the management of complex financial services businesses at an executive level and have extensive experience in senior-level accounting roles.

They should be adept at leading teams and providing operational direction. They must possess a deep understanding of the current statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements that apply to Lloyds syndicates and have a strong grasp of financial statement reporting.
