Position Overview

As a Senior Premium Auditor - Worker's Compensation, you will oversee a portfolio of complex audits, ensuring precise premium validation and compliance with regulatory and underwriting standards. This is a remote role with limited travel where you'll serve as a resource in risk assessment, delivering actionable insights and an exceptional policyholder experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of premium audits, including review and analysis of financial records to verify payroll and premium base.

  • Apply expert judgement to determine appropriate risk classifications and evaluate the operational scope of insureds.

  • Generate clear, accurate audit reports using proprietary software, adhering to regulatory and internal standards.

  • Engage insureds with professionalism and clarity to explain findings, address discrepancies, and build trusted relationships.

  • Identify and escalate significant changes in risk exposure or classification to underwriting for further review.

  • Efficiently manage scheduling and time allocation to maintain audit timelines and minimize policyholder disruption.

  • Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and compliance efforts.


Qualifications & Expertise

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience conducting complex / large Worker's Compensation audits

  • Deep understanding of audit methodologies, worker's compensation classifications, and applicable regulatory frameworks

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficient in interpreting financial documents and calculating premiums

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to present findings to diverse audiences

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally for on-site audits (primarily day trips)

  • California state audit experience with WCIRB certification is preferred
