Senior Controller
The selected candidate will be responsible for the Italian branch and will report directly to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for accurate reporting of USGAAP results for the branch including: Managing the communication of the periodic close calendar by local finance teams; Providing USGAAP subject matter advice including ensuring accounting policy changes are implemented consistently; Responsible for the quality of USGAAP ledger postings including monitoring the consistent use of SAP code blocks and charts of accounts; Monitoring and report progress and quality of balance sheet reconciliations for all entities in the branch.
  • Responsible for production of and support for queries for all Local GAAP regulatory reporting and local tax process and audit of same.
  • Responsible in the coordination of the preparation of country statutory returns including communication with local finance teams, outsourced professional service firm.
  • Contact point for External Audit, Actuarial, Risk and Tax teams for all USGAAP controllership financial reporting topics and and issues.

Key Capabilities:

  • Strong background in controllership and US GAAP. Experience in accounting policy interpretation and compliance, preparation of financial statements and performing analysis of the results. Knowledge of USGAAP an advantage and Italian GAAP essential.

Key Experience:

  • Proven controllership experience within an insurance organisation
  • English (fluent) and Italian (fluent)
