Oliver James is looking a Senior consultant to become the new CDD analyst for a major bank in Brussels, Belgium.

What is a CDD analyst ?

CDD analysts play a crucial role in helping organisations make informed decisions about their business relationships and ensuring that they operate within the bounds of the law and ethical standards. A CDD analyst typically refers to someone who works in the field of Compliance Due Diligence (CDD).

Compliance Due Diligence is a process that organisations undertake to assess and mitigate the risks associated with their business relationships, especially with clients, customers, vendors, and partners. The goal is to ensure that these relationships comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

What is the responsibilities of a CDD analyst ?

  • Conducting thorough research on individuals or entities to gather information about their background, financial history, business activities, and other relevant details.
  • Ensuring that the organisation complies with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Evaluating the potential risks associated with a particular business relationship. This could include financial risks, reputational risks, and risks related to compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of due diligence processes, including documentation of research findings, risk assessments, and compliance measures.
  • Collaborating with various internal departments, such as legal, risk management, and compliance teams, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the risks and compliance issues associated with specific business relationships.
  • Implementing ongoing monitoring processes to keep track of changes in the risk profile of existing clients or partners.
  • Generating reports and summaries of due diligence findings for management, regulatory authorities, or other relevant stakeholders.
  • Using various tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the due diligence process.

What is the requirements ?

  • You have 2-3 years of experience as CDD Analyst.
  • You are native French and Dutch speaker and can communicate both orally and in writing
  • Familiar with European and Belgian financial legislation or ready to acquire it quickly.
  • You have relevant experience in an internal control function specific to the financial sector or a strong interest in this type of function.
  • You have an excellent analytical, problem-solving, attention to details, organisational and critical-thinking skills.
  • You have a strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • You have an ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
