A client in the retail space are heaviliy investing in their Technology operations. With a significant budget for Technology, they have recently started their Cloud journey, with the goal of being a cloud first environment within 4 years.
Responsbilities
- Responsible for the design, operation, maintenance and overall performance, security availability of the company's infrastructure and systems including on-premises and cloud.
- Direct strategy of migration to AWS and drive the solutioning process for cloud migration opportunities to arrive at a delivery approach including recommended technical solution
- concepts, process, and cost.Directly manage a team of Cloud engineers, growing and mentoring them to build the skill sets will need as their IT environment evolves
- Develop, recommend and distribute operational processes and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient service delivery of cloud and on-premise services
- Maintain security and confidentiality of PHI / HIPAA records and key business information hosted
- on-premise and cloud environments
- Assist in the development and maturation of the information security program
- Design, implement, and maintain 24x7 monitoring of environments and services, working with applications and security teams to ensure SLA uptime/stability. Guide IT staff and business units in the development of cloud strategy and establish policies and procedures for developing and supporting cloud deployments.
- Provide technical problem management support and troubleshooting leadership and assist with key business stakeholder communications during outages
- Manage and partner with vendors.
Requirements
- Extensive Cloud Team management experience
- Sold experience with Azure or AWS infrastructure and engineering in a hands-on technical role. (AWS preference).
- Prior experience with enterprise systems and networks.
- MPLS, SD-WAN, or other multi-site networking experience required
- Experience with automation and scripting (e.g. Teraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with Production and Configuration Management tools (e.g. SCCM, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt) and infrastructure-as-code software, preferably Terraform
