My Client is a globally renowned Financial Services Institution within the Insurance space, we are looking for a Regional Governance Manager to join the team, to be based in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
This role will cover SEA/APAC whilst also working on projects/initiatives on a global/group basis.
Responsibilities:
- You maintain and improve the risk control framework of Life and Health businesses.
- You partner with business leaders to maintain a robust risk and control framework that is fit for purpose now and in the future.
- You advise business on any operational risk or governance matters (e.g. operational events/ issues reporting, audit etc)
- You innovate and drive ideas to improve risk culture as well as spot issues early and fix them
- You express your concerns openly and in a balanced fashion.
- You drive identification of any potential gaps in controls and identification of areas for improvement or simplification while ensuring consistency between the regions and teams (global perspective)
Requirements:
- 5 years experience in Operational Risk and/or Internal Audit/External Audit within Financial Services Institutions (Insurance/Reinsurance would be advantageous)
- Ability to deal positively with ambiguity and many diverse topics
- Ability to connect the dots end-to-end and build effective working relationships with stakeholders across markets/ different functional areas
- A strong sense of ownership for timely and high-quality delivery with customer focus
- Outstanding teammate with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in leading projects and change initiatives
- Experience in driving improved use of data to manage risks is a plus
