Oliver James are currently recruiting for an experienced Market Abuse / Trade Surveillance professional to join one of the largest consulting firms in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

The individual will be required to lead technical client projects and support internal business development as well as thought leadership relating to market abuse.

The individual will also be expected to advise clients on current industry practices and advancements relating to trade surveillance and market abuse controls

Qualifications & Skills:

- A solid understanding of trading businesses and the manifestation of market abuse risks, within sell side investment banks

-A good understanding of financial products (cash and derivatives) including the different ways in which products are traded (e.g. Voice vs Electronic)

-Direct experience of working within Compliance Surveillance (as either a Consultant or within a bank)

-Involvement and awareness of model validation of trade surveillance models

-A strong understanding of the trade surveillance vendor landscape, demonstrating an awareness of different solutions and involvement in the implementation of these

-Appreciation of what an effective Surveillance Operating Model and Governance Framework looks likes

-Flexibility and agility to contribute in a senior capacity to a broad range of market abuse and surveillance engagements

-Self starter, experienced and motivated manager who has a track record of building excellent client relationships

-Excellent understanding of key surveillance policy and procedure documentation

-Excellent oral / written communication - planning, project management, networking and influencing skills
