Our client is a speciality start-up insurance segment of a larger insurance group, former by a number of industry legends. This company is writing speciality insurance across the USA leveraging it's presence on the Lloyd's of London market.
Due to the outset of the insurer, they are seeking a highly-motivated Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) that will report to the CFO. The position would be a critical member of the Finance team and be a key position in charge of financial planning, forecasting, and analytic support. This person will be a key partner with peer groups in Financial Reporting, actuarial, investments and other functions
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop the operating budget and forecasting process
- Lead Expense and capital management position
- Work with divisional heads of long-range strategic planning
- Creation of monthly operating reports to be used in monthly business review
- In charge of rating agency prep and relationship management
- Built a financial modelling platform to aid with corporate strategic and industry analysis
- Map out plan vs actual presentations that contextualise the drivers across key metrics
- Develop Future deck for investor relations
- Improve Rating agency decks
- Other presentations as needed.
Job Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting/finance required. A Certified Public Accountant or MBA will be highly regarded.
- A minimum of 10-15 + years of FP&A experience, preferably within the Property and Casualty insurance industry
- Superior communication and organizational skill
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, preferably to advanced user level
- Ability to multitask and detail oriented
- Ability to work with various systems
- Ability to work independently and within a structured team environment
There is a large range in regards to compensation which is highly tied to candidate experience. The base salary starts at 160,000 and will reach 230,000. Benefits, short term bonus and long term incentive are also on offer.
