Our MNC banking client is looking for someone to join their Global Strategy and Planning team which helps inform strategic decision-making and acts as a catalyst and driver for strategic change within the bank. The team constructively challenges the business with critical thinking and innovative insight to improve the way we do business.
Principal Responsibilities
- Undertake analysis to support the development and track the execution of Group strategy
- Collate and analyse information from multiple sources - both external and internal - to inform strategy (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ, TM1 internally etc)
- Develop key insights for Group strategy, with strong basis on financial analysis
- Effectively communicate analyses to internal stakeholders - within Group strategy, across strategy colleagues in the bank and across other functions within Group. Undertake development of presentations and quantitative modelling in a rapid, accurate, and insightful manner to support these analyses
- Work with relevant stakeholders to track the performance of key Group initiatives in line with the broader Group strategy
- Participation in Group Strategy projects or Group-wide initiatives assessing structural long-term opportunities for the bank by leveraging group capabilities
- Provide support to Associates, Engagement Managers and Directors, as required on strategic reviews and to improve quality of strategic planning, management information (MI), accountability and governance
- Ensure proper and timely consideration of market, industry and competitor analysis to support planning and performance management activities
- Ensure proper, accurate and timely development of slide presentations and excel models to help support analytical outputs
Requirements
- Sound knowledge of basic financial ratios, income statements and balance sheet items
- Well-developed analytical skills, capacity to process high volumes of complex information and synthesise key themes and issues; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of using external sources such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ etc. helpful but not necessary
- Ability to work independently and able to work in a small team with a flat structure to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience and/or familiarity with Asia markets are desirable. Asian language skills are desirable
