Investment Accounting Director that will lead a team overseeing all aspects of GAAP/STAT, asset class reporting and accounting. This role will be critical in the development of the team and assist the Controller/CFO on investment strategy decisions.
This role requires a highly technical leader who wants to get involved with pushing the business forward. As the Director of Investment Accounting, you will be responsible for being the leader for all investment reporting items.
The position involves overseeing the investment accounting activities of the organization, including responsibility for the supervision and direction of GAAP and statutory accounting and reporting for all asset classes in the Company's investment portfolio. The role requires ensuring precise month-end, quarter-end, and annual reporting of balances related to investment assets, liabilities, income, and expenses according to GAAP and statutory accounting principles. Additionally, the candidate will manage a team of investment accounting professionals, overseeing goal setting, reviewing team work, and ensuring effective communication of investment accounting and corporate policies, practices, and performance.
- Establish and sustain internal relationships across diverse lines of business and other organizational units, including financial reporting, tax, treasury, and investment operations, in order to address and support their specific needs.
- Support management in formulating key business indicators, metrics, analytic reports, and investment-related strategies. Effectively communicate these insights to business leaders and internal partners.
- Stay updated on financial reporting and regulatory developments pertaining to investment accounting that may impact the Company, and facilitate compliance with such regulations.
- Formulate a continuous process improvement strategy encompassing automation and the implementation of new technology, processes, and reporting to enhance controls over investment accounting.
