Job Description:

  • Lead and oversee clinical informatics projects, ensuring they are meticulously planned and executed based on evidence-based practices to facilitate responsible and efficient patient care delivery.
  • Serve as a dynamic Informatics leader, adept at bridging the gap between individuals, processes, clinical expertise, and cutting-edge technology.
  • Document detailed specifications that serve as a blueprint for the development of tools, reports, and systems tailored to meet organizational business requirements.
  • Employ the SBAR process to meticulously plan and recommend informatics solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Maintain and update workflows/processes in accordance with regulatory agencies and industry best practices.
  • Proactively identify and propose system changes to enhance compliance with policies and procedures in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Leverage data insights to drive process improvements, optimize workflows, and foster behavioral change conducive to the appropriate and efficient utilization of electronic medical records (EMR) and other clinical technologies.
  • Act as a valuable resource for end users, providing timely and effective communication on system changes, workflow adjustments, downtime procedures, and more.
  • Play an active role in producing and disseminating technology-related communications through various channels such as internal networking, clinical liaison responsibilities, newsletters, announcements, and other technology-based platforms tailored to healthcare professionals.
  • Regularly conduct intentional rounding in patient care areas to gain comprehensive insights into facility-specific workflows, patient throughput, and challenges associated with technology solutions.
  • Monitor outcomes and assess user adoption of current and newly implemented information technology and functionality, ensuring continuous improvement and optimization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess a post-graduate degree in Nursing Informatics, Health Informatics, or related fields. Alternatively, a clinical background, along with a post-graduate degree and at least one year of Informatics experience, may be considered in lieu of a specific Informatics degree.
  • Have a minimum of four years of experience in Clinical/Nursing/Health Informatics, with direct exposure to Epic application(s) being preferred.
  • Successfully complete the EPIC Clinical Content Builder series of classes and certification, or obtain relevant badges demonstrating proficiency in workflows and applications supporting the core area of focus within the first 12 months or longer, subject to approval from the Senior Manager.
  • Obtain professional Informatics certification (such as ANCC, AMIA 10x10, etc.) within 12 months of hire if the Master's degree is not in Informatics.
