BI Developer | Insurance Firm | Essex
My client is a IT based Insurance firm based in Essex who are looking to appoint a BI Developer to join their Data Services Team.
They are currently in an innovation Journey where they are modernising their Data Platform, utilising MS Cloud Technologies, with the aim to provide data and reporting solutions to support their Insurance clients efficiently.
Role:
- Develop and maintain ETL processes to bring data from various sources (internal systems, third-party APIs, databases, etc.) into the data warehouse.
- Design and implement data models for the data warehouse using tools like SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) or Azure Analysis Services (AAS).
- Build and maintain the data warehouse infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Create interactive reports, dashboards, and data visualisations using tools such as Power BI, ensuring the delivery of actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Optimise queries, data models, and ETL processes to improve performance and reduce processing time.
Skills Needed:
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft BI tools such as SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Power BI.
- Strong skills in designing, developing, and optimising ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or similar tools for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data manipulation, extraction, and analysis.
- Expertise in creating interactive and visually appealing reports, dashboards, and data visualisations using Power BI or similar BI visualisation tools.
- Knowledge of data warehouse design principles, including data modeling, indexing, partitioning, and optimisation for performance and scalability.
