Data Architect - London Insurance Market - Outside IR35 Contract Role

Location: Central London (3 days on-site, 2 days WFH)

Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)

Rate: £700-£800 per day (Outside IR35)

We are currently partnering with a prominent player in the London Insurance Market to find an experienced Data Architect to join their Data Architecture team. This role involves working on high-impact projects related to ledger accounting, financial reporting, ceded reinsurance, and actuarial reserving. If you have a strong background in data architecture, particularly within the London Insurance Market, we want to hear from you.

To be considered for this role, you MUST have experience working with London Market Insurance clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with enterprise architects, business analysts, and other team members to investigate business and technical requirements.
• Create and evaluate outline solution design options, review database designs, and specify solutions, including detailed data transformation specifications.
• Support projects focused on ledger accounting, financial reporting, ceded reinsurance, and actuarial reserving.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of data strategy.
• Guide business management, change projects, and teams to align with data strategy, promoting the use of BDM and architecture principles.
• Explore innovative data-led solutions using technologies such as AI/machine learning, graph databases, and event-based architectures.
• Contribute to overall team planning, cohesion, and education.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Architect.
• Experience in London Insurance Market Finance System Architectures, including financial ledger data preparation and publishing.
• Strong understanding of Finance business processes, including financial account preparation, technical and general ledgers, insurance market technical and financial messaging, written premium and claims reporting, and Actuarial Reserving concepts and reporting.
• Excellent practical knowledge of data-related technologies, primarily using non-Microsoft cloud-based services, including relational databases (e.g., Snowflake, Postgres, Oracle), non-relational databases/communication technologies (e.g., DynamoDB, Rockset, Neo4J, Parquet, JSON), data integration (APIs, ETL, event-driven architectures, etc.), and data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake).
