Our esteemed client, a leading entity in the Insurance sector, seeks a dynamic and experienced Associate Vice President, Legal Counsel specializing in Data Privacy and Cybersecurity. This individual will join their proactive legal department, offering specialized guidance on both non-contentious and contentious matters related to privacy laws, regulations, and cybersecurity challenges.
Role & Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement strategies for handling legal issues concerning data privacy and information security.
- Negotiate, draft, and advise on agreements involving data processing activities and transnational data flows, ensuring compliance with global data protection regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits pertaining to data privacy and cybersecurity, cooperatively engaging with other departments to fortify data protection measures.
- Lead the response team during data breaches or cybersecurity incidents, also coordinating with external counsel when necessary.
- Educate employees on compliance policies concerning data protection laws, and staying updated with emerging trends and regulations in privacy and cybersecurity law.
