The role will be responsible for assisting with: (1) providing assistance and leadership to the Director - Business Change to perform central programme management office activities and controls, (2) consolidating, coordinating, tracking and reporting of key programme initiatives, (3) preparing materials for programme management and governance meetings and (4) setting up standard tools and templates for project delivery teams.

Perform day to day project management office activities and controls and setup/maintain standard tools, templates, methodologies and approaches for project delivery teams.

Project management and governance

  • Work with the programme leadership team to embed a robust Programme Management Office organisation structure.
  • Work with the Director - Business Change to provide strategic recommendation to project managers to enhance the success of programme/projects.
  • Set up and maintain standard tools, templates, methodologies and approaches for project delivery teams.
  • Create community forums to nurture project management practitioners and share knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Prepare necessary documents to initiate a new project.
  • Prepare key messages and narratives to internal (e.g. all staff) and external (e.g. regulators) stakeholders about the programme.

Programme plan

  • Collaborate with project managers to define, prioritise and develop project plans.
  • Develop and maintain a holistic programme plan with milestones, deliverables and inter/intra-programme dependencies.
  • Close liaison with project delivery teams to monitor and track status of milestones and deliverables across projects.
  • Prepare regular status reports to describe progress achieved and identify risks and issues for escalation as appropriate.

Programme risk management

  • Identify and record risks and issues arising from project delivery teams as well as mitigating actions.
  • Maintain programme and project risk and issue registers.
  • Prepare materials and report to the Risk Review Committee of key programme / project risks and issues.

General project management

  • Ensure full, transparent and appropriate communication to and from all stakeholders throughout the transition life cycle.
  • Adhere to appropriate escalation processes to escalate resource issues, delayed project phases, missed deadlines and other planning issues and prepare regular status reports.
  • Contribute to creating a positive experience for all stakeholders involved in the Programme.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the programme leadership team when you have the capability to perform or learn.
  • Undertake any other tasks that are required to support the successful delivery of the overall programme.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 8 years of professional consulting or project management/delivery experience.
  • Good working knowledge of finance and actuarial processes.
  • Experience of the insurance/financial services industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience of working across divisions in a multinational company is preferred.
  • Flexible approach to work and strong team player.
  • Prior consulting experience is a plus.

  • Strong, demonstrable implementation / project management skills.
  • Planning skills are essential (e.g. the ability to plan and track discrete initiatives).
  • Proactive / self-starter and comfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
