JOB SCOPE
My client is a well-established direct insurer with strong APAC market presence, and currently seeks an experience P&C actuary to be part of their dynamic APAC team. This is a sole contributor role, based in Singapore, and requires the actuary to be able to work independently as well as drive analytical initiatives and solutions across the region. Focus will be on Financial lines, such as professional indemnity, liabilities, medical malpractice, etc.
- Conduct portfolio reviews for Financial Lines to identify areas of opportunity and or that require attention
- Introduce alternative actuarial methodologies to inform possible scenarios of IBNR for long-tail line
- Undertake detailed pricing analysis using internal and external data to enable ongoing reviews and calibration and enhancement of existing rating models
- Conduct experience rating pricing analysis for large programs
- Assist APAC Financial Lines Head, with regular analysis of trends in the regional portfolio
- Collaborate with other long tail actuaries in Asia (and across other regions) to create a common framework and promote knowledge sharing globally
- Support the P&C actuarial team across APAC with the annual financial plan and strategic plan
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in actuarial/statistical or other related
- Good experience in P&C actuarial for at least 10 years
- Ideal candidate should have expose in Financial lines and a combination of reserving > pricing
- Ease in working with senior decision makers, and all levels of the organisation, across functions
- Strong communicator
- Good actuarial exam progression
