Our client, is a rapidly emerging player in the life insurance industry. They provide life, annuity and asset accumulation products in addition to having a successful track record of acquiring companies and blocks of business, which continue to contribute significantly to their growth. The Group has more than $15 billion of life insurance inforce.

Reporting jointly to the Chief Accounting Officer, The Finance Manager will oversee the preparation and build out of documentation for the 144A debt filings, quarterly and annual SEC level financial statements, implementation of LDTI,

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning and build out of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with SEC regulations (Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, financial supplement).
  • Coordination and preparation of all footnote disclosures, management's discussion and analysis and the application of XBRL to the consolidated financial statements as required by the SEC.
  • Monitor, research and resolve SEC and GAAP reporting issues and be aware of current accounting pronouncements and developments on SEC Rules and Regulations including proper presentation of financial statements and related footnote disclosures.
  • Build out the Narrative Reporting module of Oracle Cloud to facilitate financial statement disclosures, internal monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis, board level reporting, and Management Discussion and Analysis. Work closely with the AVP, Modeling to build out the variance analysis function inside of Narrative Reporting.
  • Assist with the implementation of LDTI (Long Duration Targeted Improvements) and CECL (Current Expected Credit Losses).
  • Liaise with applicable parties (General Accounting, Capital and Expense Management, Actuarial, Investment Accounting, IT, etc) to ensure proper support of general ledger data/applications supporting external financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with MAR and prepare for the implementation of SOX compliance.

The ideal candidate will posses:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar.
  • Internationally recognized accounting designation will be highly regarded.
  • Experience working in the life insurance industry or in a public accounting firm serving life insurance clients.
  • Expertise in life, annuity and health insurance accounting.
  • Recent experience in preparation and/or review of SEC Regulatory Reporting.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining effective internal controls.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail and the ability to adapt to frequent change.
  • Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to take ownership of situations and bring them to a resolution.
